For the last newsletter of each month I select 3 reader questions and offer advice based off what the tarot cards say! Want to submit a question for next month’s newsletter? c-c-c-cannonball !
Reader question #1: Struggling with feeling stuck. Right now all my friends are having kids and while I don’t want that, I feel sometimes like I haven’t made as much progress since my early 20’s and that feels depressing. Help!
Oh hunni, between my rewatch of Younger and binging Overcompensating, my nostalgia for college and NYC during my early 20’s is at an ATH (all time high), so I feel this DEEPLY. First card for you is the Ace of Vessels. This is a gorgeous card which asks, what do you want your next adventure to be? Are you looking to see new places or try new things? Right now can you examine the ways in which you quench your thirst and fill your heart? I wonder if by reflecting on that, you’ll be able to see what needs changing (remember nothing changes, if nothing changes!) but it also might help you feel some gratitude for your life! We live in a social media hellscape where we are made to feel dogshit about ourselves by design! So take a beat to self reflect and touch some grass. Also I’d be excited if I were you because when the Ace comes up, that means we are looking at NEW beginnings, so specifically this might mean an opportunity for new love and/or friendship, and/or BOTH ! And it might be coming your way v soon! Second card is The Moon. Yes, I am beyond biased about this card because of the wolves howling at the moon and nighttime is my time, HOWEVER, I think the wisdom from this card would be if you’re feeling stuck, it is time to shake up your routine! Get in sync with the moon (bare minimum: start by setting intentions during the full moon, and release what no longer serves you during full moons +download the chani app and listen to the weekly videos Chani Nicholas posts on IG!), sync up with nature, and experience just how energizing it can be to follow the natural rhythm of the outdoors. This card is also a reminder there might be something lurking beneath the surface (think hidden things at play), that will reveal itself soon. Keep trusting your intuition always! Everything is temporary bb!
Reader question #2: What do the cards say about what to do when you got what you wanted, only to realize you’re not sure it’s what you actually want anymore?
Non-tarot related, I’d prescribe you to watch Into the Woods, specifically Act II which explores this very topic. It’s also giving this current season of Hacks, where Deborah gets Late Night, only to realize she doesn’t want it anymore because she has changed, and I’ll save the rest of my thoughts on this for a personal essay next month. Your first card is the Page of Vessels. This is a card that tells us to be on the lookout for someone who may have valuable information for you! And remember, it might be someone you don’t expect! This could come IRL or in the form of a dream, but try to keep your ears open and be ready to receive. Pages are all about delivering information so know that someone has a message for you they want you to hear. Sometimes a guide or mentor can offer you better advice, or some fresh perspective you’re unable to see yourself, so stay open and ready! Your second card is the King of Vessels and this card once again references being able to look to a mentor. Gentle reminder that you don’t become the King overnight. You dip your toes in the water, try a bunch of things, and only after multiple attempts and years of locking in do you become a true master of watercraft. I would want you to ask yourself the question, how can I be a leader and inspire others? Do so with love hunni. I think overall, be on the lookout for a message from someone else, and don’t be afraid to check in with someone you admire to gain further clarity as to why you might be feeling this way. If anything, I’d say that realizing you no longer want what you wanted might just be the ultimate sign of, dare I say…growth!
Reader question #3: Feel incredibly dormant sexually. I made out with someone new last month and felt bored. When people ask if I’m on apps or seeing anyone new I just roll my eyes. I feel good not being on any apps because they’re trash, but I also am struggling to meet anyone irl. But I also just don’t care? Am I broken?
You’re not broken! Dating is! Honestly, stay off the apps! I applaud you! It sounds like you’re protecting your peace. With all the Cowboy Carter content on my news feed, I find myself audibly exclaiming in reaction to her insane talent and presence, “Wait, sorry Jay Z cheated on this goddess?! HOW? WHY?!” It really goes to show that the more hot, smart, successful women I meet, the more I learn it’s all the men out there who ain’t shit. (If you’re not picturing Miss Eggy on Weekend Update I don’t want to know you!) Ok! First up we have the 9 of Vessels. This is a very bright card, it is quite literally screaming *the sun is shining! this is the life!* That leads me to believe you don’t need to be dating right now. I’d encourage you to release any expectations and worry that you need to be doing anything at all. Do less in fact! Ok next up we have the Queen of Blades. This card represents a queen who is a true solo flier. She works hard, plays hard, and will only accept the best. Honestly, I think this is you. If you’re bored, stop questioning if you’re broken and instead, keep living life until someone comes along who makes you excited again. Sure, if you really wanted to wake up your love life you could go out with some mid tier options named David or Jon, and experience a few weeks of mediocre dates at overpriced cocktail bars where you are asked zero questions, just to be ghosted after you finally sleep over for the first time, but you’re a gold medalist hunni. Let’s not even entertain the idea of being with Bronze. Take care in your interactions with others and keep protecting your peace! This is just a season, it’s not forever. Go for gold baby, I believe in you!
